Relationship Counselling
Relationship counselling helps couples to better understand problem areas in their relationship and guides them in resolving these. Many couples find that they regain the love they once had for each other. They discover deeper intimacy and feel better as individuals.
People come to relationship counselling as couples or individually. They may be in a relationship, searching for a relationship or resolving issues about a past relationship.
People come to relationship counselling for a variety of reasons:
- to resolve problems in a current relationship
- to learn how to enhance their relationship
- to understand how they can find a relationship
- to help end a relationship
- to help with issues around chronic illness
Couple counselling begins with issues or problems that the couple want resolved. Counselling helps them gain a better understanding of the issues that they face and gives them the tools to resolve those issues.
Counselling may be short-term (1 -12 sessions) or longer-term, depending on the intensity and depth of the issues the couple or person face. The duration of counselling is discussed in the first session and reviewed periodically.
Personal Counselling and Psychotherapy
In addition to relationship counselling I offer short and longer-term counselling and psychotherapy for individuals, dealing with most issues people face.
The purpose of counselling and psychotherapy is to assist the client with difficult issues in their life. This may involve a close focus on the issue itself and may also include a deeper exploration with the client to promote greater self-understanding.
I am an internationally recognised teacher and practitioner of the Voice Dialogue method. You can read more about this approach to transformational psychology at the Voice Dialogue Australia website.
